PAGES MAKING READING EASIER WITH NEW POINGO SET

PAGES Bookstore has introduced a new reading tool geared towards helping young children improve their skills.

It is the Poingo set, which brings children's favourite Disney characters to life through an interactive "talking" pen using specialised reading books.

Operations manager for Pages, Michael Maloney, explained that Poingo is multipurpose, very easy to use set and is a great gift for young children between the ages of three and seven years, who need to improve their reading skills or who simply love stories.

"All they have to do is point the pen at the page in the book and it will help them identify the words and they can follow on their own with the pronunciation and reading. The Poingo pen utilizes an infrared scanner to "read" microscopic symbols in the book, bringing words, sounds and music alive in the reading process. It is also a great alternative and reading tool for children who may love stories but have trouble reading," said Maloney.

At Pages, customers can choose from titles including the Lion King, Cars, Pooh's Wishful Thinking, Sleeping Beauty and more, which bring to life the children's favourite Disney characters like Simba, Nemo, Cinderella and Winnie the Pooh.

"This set is the perfect Christmas gift which combines educational and entertainment as the interactive features allows children to feel as though they are unlocking treasures and finding special secrets, which all help to make reading interesting and fun," Maloney said.

The starter Poingo package comes equipped with two books, namely Cars and Finding Nemo, an interactive reading pen and a USB cable where extra features and books can be downloaded via the Internet.
