"NANA" BOOK LAUNCH FOR CAVE SHEPHERD STORES

BARBADIANS will get the chance next month to meet the local 'Mother Goose' of children's stories, Roberta "Nana" Simpson, who at 70 years old has published her first book of children's Bible stories.

Simpson, who is receiving international acclaim for the book Nana's Bible Stories, will host three local signings and book readings at Cave Shepherd's outlets at the Vista, Worthing, Christ Church on Friday, November 2 at 5:30 p.m., Broad Street on Saturday, November 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and West Mall, Sunset Crest on Saturday, November 24, from 11a.m. to 1 p.m.

Tracey Lloyd, regional director - marketing for Duty Free Caribbean, the holding company for Pages, explained that the book and CD compilation put a new spin on classic Bible stories like the crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus' healing of the leper, and the feeding of the 5 000 and has won Simpson the title of "The Mother Goose of Bible Stories" internationally.

"The book is available at all our Pages Bookstores across the island and the response has been overwhelming by both children and adults. This book is a children's book but it is one all ages can enjoy," she added.

Simpson, mother of five and grandmother of nine, said for years she loved telling stories to her children and grandchildren and the book was the Lord's way of speaking to her about sharing those stories with a wider audience.
