MAC COSMETICS INTRODUCES NEW FALL LINE AT CAVE SHEPHERD
Before a backdrop of smoke-stenciled windows and bright lights, M.A.C. cosmetics launched its new make-up line Smoke Signals for the fall season to an anxious and receptive public at Cave Shepherd, Broad Street, recently.
Displaying three of its new looks - tailored, future graphic, and photo-shaped - the new line offers everything from eye shadows and lipsticks to nail lacquers.
The collection blends different styles and colours in the application, utilising darker shades with lighter lip tones, or sharper lines with bright lips and pale colours.
Dozens of women ranging from models to businesswomen to young movers and shakers, along with men in the make-up business, turned up to talk to M.A.C. artistes about everything from choices of creams and powders to varied skin types and tips on make-up application.
The patrons lined up after consultations to be the first to purchase the products fresh off the line and one visitor remarked that previously she had not been able to find the right tones to go with her dark skin but after a makeover, she exclaimed at the finished look, adding that she was very pleased and now had an idea what to shop for in choosing makeup.
"I am a M.A.C. girl, I love the brand, but these are colours I would not ordinarily buy and say 'Let me try this out', but look at it. I love it," she said.
Another customer, Maria Thompson, said she had previously tried finding the right shades to no avail. During her make-over, make-up artist Patricia Forde gave her tips on shades and how to go about applying them with a variety of brushes.
Gushing over her new look, Thompson added that she had learnt a lot of new tips she could use and had finally found make-up to suit her light-brown skin tone.
M.A.C. artistes noted that they would be available for bookings by the public wishing to come into the store for consultations on the new line of products.
