TOTAL SPORT BACKING ANDREW JONES
Total Sport is committed to continuing support for motor sports activities in Barbados.
This is the word from Anita Elms, regional marketing manager for the Total Sport parent company, Duty Free Caribbean Holdings which was the main sponsor of last weekend's International Rally Sprint and this weekend's Super Special which climaxes this year's Rally Carnival.
This however is not the first time that Total Sport has been involved with motor sport. Earlier this year, the popular sports goods retailer was a co-sponsor of the Dexterity Test at Searle's.
Now moving out of first gear, Total Sport expanded its involvement in the motor sport arena by sponsoring rally driver Andrew Jones, the International Rally Sprint and the Super Special for the Barbados Rally Carnival 2004.
Elm's noted: "Our sponsorship of Andrew Jones, a driver who is committed more to enjoying driving than to winning, aptly reflects the Total Sport brand as adventurous yet passionate. Our involvement with the Barbados Rally Carnival is all part of our name out there as Barbados' authentic sports apparel store and connect with fans who are as adventurous and passionate about sports as we are."
The flamboyant rally driver Andrew Jones carried the Total Sport colours on his rear-wheel drive Ford Escort MkII at last week's International Rally Sprint at Bushy Park. He will continue his showy, yet crowd-pleasing driving style this weekend for the Rally Barbados leg of the Rally Carnival.
